Sound Insulation and Window Seals

Sound insulation properties of a window depend mostly on the construction of the sealed unit and window seals. Sound insulation properties of a standard window remain in the range of 26...33 dB, depending on the glass thickness, installation of the sealed unit in the window frame and distance between glasses in the sealed unit. As a special order sound reducing glass, sealed units with special construction and additional sound insulation window seals, which ensure sound insulation index in the range of 40-44 dB can be offered. Sealed units are installed in the window frame and sealed with silicon mastic. In AS RehPol we use window silicones made by German companies Bayer and Remmers.

We use window seals SV 125 made by a German company Deventer. These seals feature a two-cubicle profile and ensure good wind insulation, rain protection and thermal insulation. As the compound of these window seals is based on rubber and polypropylene they do not colour wood, are sun and ozone resistant and ensure normal seal in the temperature range of 60° C...+ 135° C. Window seals come in white, beige, dark brown and black.

As an option a window seal V33 with extra sound insulation properties may be installed in the window frame.
